If convenience is the reason, they one should go for western outfits where the midriff is liberally displayed, otherwise go for body fitting hizab with eye slit, it is sexier than salwar kameez, at least the imagination of the beholder can go wild even the actually thing is unattractive.

Sharee is much sexier than kurti.

But women these days avoid sharee. May be they are not trained to handle sharee.

Cosmicbomber u r missing a good point here. A lot of this girls picking up the boring Kurtis that do not rattle ur imagination are not dressing up for u. For them u may not exist.

@ bhavya, I was just trying to give some elementary fashion tips so that they look attractive for their prospective mates, I am not expecting anything for myself :) And, it may not be only men specific, women may dress to please other women as well. Saree exposes the mid section beautifully and according to Pierre Cardin the saree, blouse combination is more sexier than a bustier worn with a pair of lacy stockings, but yes you have to wear the saree really low and a minimalistic blouse to create the effect.

And now that I have been called a feminist, let me add a few things:

Saree is any day sexier. Pitching it against salwar kameez or kurti on the scale of sex appeal is insanity.

Why young girls are rejecting saree and going in for salwar kameez and kurtis which are a notch above hizab?

That's cos when this average women is stepping out of the house for work or college or whatever, looking sexy is not on her mind.

And to Cosmicbomber, the young women of this country are today much more sexually liberated then any of their predecessors and no they are not trying to look attractive to their prospective mates with kurtis. They definitely know better than that, only if u had access to data to help u assess the trends among women folk for the stuff they wear when they are trying to entice their mates.

The sarees that were worn on a daliy basis by the women of yester-years were no where close to the sexy "Desi Girl" versions of it.They were very boring and troublesome.

So if u r tying to ask why the young women have excluded the sexy saree from their daily wear wardrobe, it was never actually included. It has always had an Exclusive status and still maintains the same.

LOL @ Nikita, on a hindsight I admit the question was a no brainer, all I was trying to drive home that why not embrace a body hugging hizab with eye slit instead of a salwar kameez if you are shedding saree because the former seems to be more provocative than kurti and stuff.

@ bhavya, I am not referring to the hindustani rural draping, but the bollywood draping which was actually perfected by Tagore's sister-in-law about 100 years back by taking cues from Parsi draping. It's no wonder why ad gurus and art directors choose saree over salwar kameez when they need to dress a woman.

As a matter of fact, the creators of Savita Bhabi also draped her in a saree and gave thumbs down to salwar kameez or kurti. So, girls time to reshuffle your wardrobe!

@ amitg, you can throw some more light on the handling part and how such training can be organized, I know the girls hate the boring kuris but as bhavya rightly pointed out the convenience factor is coming in between their choice.

What's wrong with a porn cartoon character? It's a part of culture that is sweeping India (but undercover), pornography plays a very important role in adult life and Savita Bhabi is more a symbol of India's first sexually liberated woman that a cartoon porn character.

Porn is not untouchable in any liberal culture, it also reflects the society we are in, in many countries porn is legal. I think we have a mindset issue here, just because it is a porn comic, probably you can't accept it, but I don't see any problem with Savita Bhabi as long as it is enjoyed by 18 years old men and women. Give it a try, you will probably like it but I think the site is banned by GOI :( Also, read the blog written by Pritish Nandy in TOI.
