Manish Arora's love affair with CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements

New Delhi, February 25, 2010: Swarovski Elements ongoing commitment to foster Indian fashion, the brand celebrates its longstanding partnership with the maverick designer Manish Arora with an unveiling of a retrospective: "MANISH ARORA'S LOVE AFFAIR WITH CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements" at DLF Emporio in New Delhi today. The exposition will showcase iconic haute couture pieces from the Manish Arora's national and international runways since 2003 marking the tenth milestone of international showing from the designer this year.

The retrospective installation will be on display from February 25, 2010-March 04, 2010 at The Atrium, DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. On display are also the limited edition for Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED motif t-shirts and the transfer collection from Manish Arora's international partnership event with the brand held in London.

Known for his vivid use of colour in designs that combine contemporary silhouettes with traditional handcrafted techniques, Manish Arora has gained worldwide recognition since launching his eponymous label in 1997. The designer, who first showed at London Fashion Week in 2005 and debuted in Paris to great acclaim in 2007, has worked creatively and been supported by Swarovski since the launch of his international career, incorporating CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements into all his major collections and creative partnerships to date. All the CRYSTALLIZED garments carry the "Made with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements" tag.

2003-2005: Manish Arora and CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements courtship begins with collaborations for his India Fashion Week collections

2005: Manish Arora makes his international debut at London Fashion Week and showcases his Fall/Winter 06 collection. He creates the iconic "London Transport" dress using CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements.

2006: Manish presents his Spring/Summer 07 'Life is Beautiful' collection and accentuates it with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements in both garments and accessories.

Manish showcases his Autumn/Winter 07 'Space' collection at London Fashion Week to rave reviews and critical acclaim. He creates futuristic pieces heavily embellished with CRYSTALLIZED Swarovski Elements.

2007: Manish strengthens his international footprint with a successful debut with his Spring/Summer - 2008 collection at the Paris Fashion Week in September 2007 and collaborates with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements to create three showstopper garments to be shown on the catwalk. The 'Swarovski Jigsaw Ganesha' dress, the 'Comic Mesh' jumpsuit and the 'Bomb Blast' dress.

2008: Manish showcases his 'Warrior' themed Autumn/Winter 08 collection in Paris. He creates customized masks and accessories for the show that are made with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements. He also creates a special Swarovski mesh armor for the show. Supermodel Kate Moss sports the CRYSTALLIZED mask from this collection!

"Adventures of The Ladies Tailor" a style documentary on Manish is aired on Discovery Travel and Living with him as the host of this highly acclaimed T.V. Show - Manish unveils a custom designed Ambassador with signature interiors accessorized with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements.

Manish creates a special garment inspired by the human anatomy called "visible human" and unveils it at the India debut of the international SWAROVSKI RUNWAY ROCKS show held in Mumbai.

Manish showcases his 'Circus' inspired Spring/Summer 2009 collection at the Cirque Di Hiver in Paris with 3 special garments with his Swarovski collaboration - the 'Tri Colour Swarovski', the 'Bouncing Clowns' dress and the 'Manish Arora Circus Poster Swarovski' dress.

Manish collaborates for Swarovski's international wedding initiative "UNBRIDALED - The Marriage of Tradition and Avant Garde" for the very first time in India and creates a scintillating wedding outfit embellished with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements for the event.

2009: Manish showcases his 'Jungle' themed Autumn/Winter 09 collection at Garage Turenne in Paris where he showcases unique Swarovski collectibles from the animal kingdom like the jeweled Gorilla, Rhino, Lion, Orangutan and Parrot. He also creates three special Swarovski looks - the 'Lion Heads Bolero', the 'Jungle web' dress and the 'Tropical butterfly'.

Collaborating with CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements for the fifth time, the textures are achieved with innovative techniques that integrate Swarovski Elements with hand-cut square embroidery, intricate applique as well as rich surface details using hand embroidery three-dimensional motifs.

Manish is invited by the Ministry of Culture, France, to showcase a retrospective of his work at the Palais Royale; Manish showcases some of his Swarovski embellished creations here.

Manish presents his Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Crazy Horse in Paris. He creates special Swarovski encrusted cages, epaulettes and accessories for the show.

Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED collaborates with Manish Arora to create a special collection of sparkling motifs exclusively on T-shirts available at Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED stores in London, New York, Shanghai and Austria. Three mesmerizing T-shirts motifs included Lakshmi, Ganesh and a glittering rendition of Nandi the bull. Alongside the T-shirt designs Manish also created several additional sparkling transfer motifs which again draw on Indian spirituality. These are also available in India now and can be applied to most fabrics, providing unlimited possibilities for adding glitter and glamour to any wardrobe.
