Effect of films on Students

A ninth standard student stabbed to death his teacher for writing adverse remarks against him to his parents. Where did he get inspiration from? Yes the answer is quite clear. From the movie "Agneepath".
Many years ago in the city of Pune there was a spate of murders which included two well known families JOSHI AND ABHYANKAR. The culprits derived the know how from a bollywood movie.

This obviously leads us to the conclusion that these Bollywood folks are responsible for corrupting the tender minds of our youth. Our youth is driven to all sorts of crime because of the crude and dangerous episodes revealed in the bollywood movies. Naturally society is endangered. Today we are scared of walking on the road as some youth would like to enact a bollywood episode which he has watched.

Indians waste a lot of time viewing these bollywood movies which preach all the vices for our youth to imitate. Ultimately what is achieved? You can read cases of murder, robbery and rape in the newspapers the background of which is generously provided by bollywood. It would be much better to watch a Kathakali or Mohiniattam performance where the theme has something to do with God. Or a game of football or hockey will be a much better option where at least the health of the youth gets better.

Secondly why do we worship these bollywood actors and actresses? Newspapers peer into their private lives and give columns and columns of articles on how they dress or what they do at parties. Rather newspapers could do well to give articles on real heroes like the Great Maratha Warrior Sivaji or Shaheed Bhagat Singh or Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Or in the alternative let the youth know about Srinivasa Ramanujam or Dr.Abdul Kalam. There is no doubt that their contribution to society is much more than any Shahrukh Khan or Priyanka Chopra.

It is unthinkable that you kill your teacher for grades or parents call.

vani what I want to state is that films preaching violence and sex which are harmful to society should be banned. Also there should be a legislation banning the glorification of the worthless film actors and actresses. They are the people who spoil the careers of millions of our resourceful youth.
